Most silver gets bought by the ounce and put in a box. We think that's a waste of good metal.
Everything here is solid silver — weighed, tested, and stated plainly. The difference is that it's also something. An elephant. A dragon skull. A grand piano small enough to sit in your palm. It carries its metal value like any bar or round, and it carries something else besides.
Where our pieces come from
We buy from estates. Collections that took decades to assemble come to us whole — Italian silversmiths, retired designer work, hand-poured pieces from small studios that have long since closed. Much of it hasn't been on the open market in twenty or thirty years.
That's the entire advantage. We aren't competing with a mint stamping fresh inventory. We're finding pieces that were made once, bought once, and kept. When a collection comes to us well, we can price it well — and that's how a Buccellati animal ends up costing what it costs here.
What we tell you about every piece
- Actual silver weight, in both grams and troy ounces
- Purity, as marked or as tested
- Hallmark and maker, when the piece carries one
- Honest condition notes — tarnish, wear, prior repair
- Photographs of the actual item, never a stock image
When we don't know something, we say we don't know. Unmarked pieces are listed as unmarked. Tested pieces are listed as tested. We would rather lose a sale than describe a piece as something it isn't.
How it ships
Every order goes out insured and tracked, double-boxed, with the piece wrapped in anti-tarnish material.
